New development, not much change

Hello Everyone.

I have been in touch with lots of families from CB agency that have gone to Kazkhstan already, some are in the process of going & some are waiting just like us. It is amaising to know their stories. I have received more information from them in 1 week than I have received from CB since November 2007. I know now that the embassy "usually" takes 1 month not 2 & that the waiting period varies depending on where you go. (Anjali did say that). I saw that there is a family that have waited 6 months after their file was sent to Kaz to get a LOI, I don't know if they asked for a girl & what age they asked. They were however given 2 weeks notice to get there. They were told on Sept 9 to be there on Sept 25 so they were not kidding when they said you have to be ready to leave in 2 weeks once the LOI (letter of Invitation) is received. Sean & I are ready for that & we already wrote Josh's teacher a letter explaining this & indicated that one we know when we leave, we will be contacting her to request a curriculum for Josh. We were also told by another family that there is no need to go to Russia anymore if you don't want to. We can sign a power of attorney to someone who will complete all the papers that are left to do on our behalf while we wait in Kaz & once they are completed we can go home from there. That is a huge load of our mind.

As our dossier was sent to the Embassy on August 28, I should hope to do another update early October to advise that our dossier was sent to Kaz. From there, again, as we are gender specific but the age of our daughter should be between 2-4.5 yrs old, we may be delayed & we may be not.

In the meantime, enjoy the beautiful sunrise over Martenstensville, SK on Aug 26,2008 . It doesn't get better than this.

Thank you katie. You have no idea what your comment provided us with. We have been experiencing some issues with the Consulat here in Ottawa & I looked quicly at some of the blogs you have been reading & the 1st one I looked at was from Canada (Linsey) the one followed by CBC & it all came clear to us why we are at a stand still. The Consulat guy she dislikes so much..... I notified my agency of this & will see what will happen. Probably nothing as he is not Canadian.

I wish you all the best in your adoption and hope you have your child sooner than later.
